Our Story

A Journey of Passion, Heritage & Artistry

The story of SAERK began with a deep-rooted passion for exceptional craftsmanship, a rich heritage steeped in Eastern rug-making traditions, and a love for Scandinavian design. Our founder, Bobby Baktash, was raised in a family immersed in the textile flooring industry, learning the intricacies of rug-making from his father, Alireza Baktash, a renowned expert and pioneer in the field. Bobby's upbringing fostered a profound appreciation for the artistry, skill, and dedication that goes into crafting each rug, instilling in him a desire to create something truly remarkable.

The mission

Driven by the desire to preserve and celebrate the ancient rug-making traditions of the East, while incorporating the elegance and minimalism of Scandinavian design, Bobby established SAERK, a Swedish family company that would soon become a global supplier of bespoke soft floors. The name SAERK derives from the word Saerkland, the first Nordic merchants' name for the Middle East, which means textile.

From the very beginning, SAERK's core values have been anchored in quality, sustainability, and responsible business practices. We work closely with artisanal rug-makers and suppliers who share our vision and commitment to excellence, ensuring that our rugs not only exude timeless elegance but also reflect our dedication to preserving the environment and supporting local communities.

Today, SAERK's collections are admired and sought after by discerning clients worldwide, who appreciate the beauty, craftsmanship, and uniqueness of our bespoke rugs. Our rugs grace the interiors of private residences, luxury hotels, and commercial spaces, adding warmth, sophistication, and charm to every room they adorn.

As SAERK continues to evolve, our passion for creating exquisite rugs remains unwavering. We are dedicated to honoring the past, embracing the present, and looking forward to a future where our rugs continue to inspire, delight, and bring people together, one beautiful space at a time.
